Wrapping up our summer this year we held a VeggieTales® Fun Fest. A real summer day with a cookout, games, crafts, and even blow-up bounce fun! Thanks to all who made this day possible.

Dwane and Miriam Mansveld are missionaries to the homeless in Montreal, Quebec. The number of people living on the streets there is staggering- especially how many teenagers there are.
We help support the Mansvelds. When Terri found out they were going to be in Rhode Island, she invited them to stay up here for a few days. Happily, they graciously accepeted! We were grateful to meet them and learn even more about thier mission, and about themselves.
The pictures here are of the Potluck supper we had in thier honor, and also some of the service the next day.

"Pure Desire" is a program started by Dr. Ted Roberts. A former Marine fighter pilot, he has struggled with addictions in his own life. It was through his attempts to break free through his own strength, and failing time after time, that he started a program to help the identification of addictions and outlines steps to set others free.
Q.V.B.C., along with and hosted by Bethlehem Baptist Church in Hampden, MA, was instrumental in bringing a Pure Desire Seminar to our area in June 2002. It was an amazing three days of insight and discovery, and of course, of healing

In April 2002, our Missions Team organized a special treat for two of the missionaries we support- the Derenzo's, who are teachers at Black Forest Academy in Germany. They asked us to bake some cookies and to bring them in containers to church one particular Sunday. They took these goodies, and along with other items such as napkins, plates, etc., packed them in a box and shipped them to the Derenzo's so they could have a small party for their students!
The "party in a box" was very well received, and we got a nice thank you from Jerry and Lois. They included a few pictures of the children enjoying this treat. Thanks to all who helped make this happen!

Q.V.B.C.'s Youth Group has grown a bit since it first came to be! Originally for Senior high students only, they have grown to include Junior high youth as well.
