JOIN US WEDNESDAY NIGHTS FROM 6-8PM (GRADES 7-12)
Quaboag Youth Ministry is a place for teens to build real relationships, grow in their faith, and learn what it looks like to follow Jesus in everyday life.
We talk honestly about Scripture, faith, and the real issues students are navigating, creating space for questions, conversation, and genuine growth. Along the way, there’s plenty of fun, friendship, and opportunities to put their faith into action through serving others.
Our goal is simple: to help students know Christ, grow together, and live out their faith wherever God has placed them.
What to Expect

Come in, catch up with friends, play a game, and settle in.

Announcements, games, worship, and a Scripture-based lesson or Big Idea.

Students break into grade-based groups for Bible study, discussion, questions, and prayer.

Quaboag Youth Ministry ends at 8:00 PM sharp. Because it's a school night—and because our leaders are volunteers—we ask families to make arrangements for students to be picked up on time. If you're unexpectedly running late, please communicate with your student and their leader.

A hard copy of the Bible, along with a pen, highlighter, or sticky notes, can be helpful during teaching and small-group discussions—but none of these are required. We always have extra Bibles available if you need one.
About Us
Quaboag Youth Ministry is led by a team of adults who genuinely love Jesus, love our students, and really enjoy serving together. At the heart of everything we do is relationship—we want to know our students well, walk alongside them through both the good and the hard, and help them build a faith that becomes truly their own.

September 16: Why We Serve
After our two-week break, we’ll be back with a special guest speaker, who will help us explore why serving matters and what it looks like to use what God has given us to serve others. Students will also begin thinking about where their own interests and gifts might fit by completing our Serve Survey.
Keep the conversation going: What’s something you’re good at or enjoy doing that you could use to help someone else?

September 23: Impact Night
Students will put last week’s conversation into action at our ministry Serve Fair. They’ll meet ministry leaders, learn about different ways to get involved, ask questions, and discover that they don’t have to wait until adulthood to make an impact in the church.
Parent attendance is required!

September 30 - October 21: Fire & Faithfulness

For four weeks, we’ll be walking through the book of Daniel and looking at what it means to remain faithful to God when the culture around us doesn’t share our beliefs. Through Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, students will explore trust, influence, obedience, courage, and what a lifetime of faithfulness can look like.

I’ve been part of Quaboag Church for four years and this is my third year with Quaboag Youth Ministry. My favorite part of serving here is building real relationships with our students—getting to know who they are, watching their faith become their own, and seeing them grow into strong young adults who genuinely love the Lord.
Outside of Quaboag Youth Ministry, I’m married to John, mom to TJ, and a homeschool mom who loves learning considerably more than housekeeping. I’m happiest with my family, preferably with something good to eat because I firmly believe food is a love language. I love books—pretty much any books, although probably not horror—along with board games and puzzles. Give me a comfy chair, a cozy blanket, a hot cup of tea, and a good book and I'm perfectly content. I’m also a big fan of really good chai and have absolutely no self-control around a bag of sour gummy worms.
Micah 6:8 captures a lot of what I hope to live out and encourage in our students: “to act justly, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.”

I’ve been part of Quaboag Church since 2010 and joined the Quaboag Youth Ministry team in 2020. One of the things I enjoy most about Quaboag Youth Ministry is getting to know our students and having the privilege, year after year, of watching them grow in their faith and come to know God better for themselves.
I spent much of my childhood on the mission field along the Amazon River in Peru, which probably had something to do with my lifelong love of travel and learning. I’ve been a pilot for 36 years and still enjoy aviation even when I’m not working. I also love reading about history, traveling for both work and fun, and learning how to do new things. There’s always something new worth discovering.
One of my favorite passages is Romans 8:38–39 and its reminder that nothing—not the present or the future, nor anything else in all creation—“will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

I’ve been part of Quaboag Church for about ten years and helping with Quaboag Youth Ministry for about nine. What I love most is getting to know our students through all the different seasons of growing up—from the shy and unsure seventh graders just walking through the doors to the young adults we’ve watched grow up and begin chasing their dreams.
Outside of Quaboag Youth Ministry, Jim and I have two adult children and four grandchildren, and time with my family will always make me happy. I love hearing people’s stories, reading a good biography, Italian food, long walks through the woods or along the beach, and an iced Americano with coconut milk.

I’ve been part of Quaboag Church for about ten years, and what I enjoy most about Quaboag Youth Ministry is spending time with our students—hearing their stories, encouraging them, and helping them grow closer to Jesus.
Outside of Quaboag Youth Ministry, family is a huge part of my life, and I’ll take just about any opportunity to spend time with them—especially my grandkids. I’m also a big Patriots and Bruins fan, enjoy walks with my dog, and am a bit of an airplane and airshow nut. Add chicken parm, a good Americano, and either Harry Potter or The Lord of the Rings, and I’m pretty happy.

7th-8th Grades Leader
I’ve been part of Quaboag Church for three years, and this will be my first year with Quaboag Youth Ministry. This past July and August, I also spent time with our fourth through sixth graders in KidZone, where I’ll continue to serve as a substitute. I’ve taught students of all ages throughout my life, and I enjoy helping young minds refine their critical and logical thinking skills through the Socratic method (I ask them a lot of questions). I often learn as much from them as they do from me, and I love seeing the moment when someone trying to grasp a complex issue finally “gets it.”
That same love of learning has followed me through a few different careers as a State Police Lieutenant, college professor, and civil litigation attorney. These days, I spend much of my time caring for our 130+ acre farm, while also enjoying travel, museums, and learning something new whenever I get the chance. I’m especially interested in the history of law and banking in New England, which I also get to share with others as an interpreter at Old Sturbridge Village. My wife and I have six mostly grown children, ranging in age from 18 to 40, and two grandchildren. We also enjoy ballroom dancing together.
A passage that is especially meaningful to me is 1 Peter 3:15: “Always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks the reason for the hope you have. But do it with gentleness and respect.”

Quaboag Youth Ministry Coordinator
This is my first year serving with Quaboag Youth Ministry, and I’ve been part of Quaboag Church for about four and a half years. I’m excited to be part of what God is doing in the lives of our students and to get to know them along the way.
Outside of Quaboag Youth Ministry, I’m a teacher at Tantasqua Regional High School, married to Hans, and mom to two Quaboag Youth Ministry students. I’m “fit-ish,” love being around people, and am happiest sharing great food with great friends, laughing, playing games, listening to music, singing, dancing, or reading a good book at the beach. I could probably talk about great food all day—especially marinara sauce.
Random fact: In high school, I painted cow spots all over my silver car with window chalk. They never washed off, so naturally I bought cow-print seat covers and named the car “Mooey.”
One of my favorite verses is Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you…to give you a future and a hope.”

I’ve been part of Quaboag Church since 2010, serving over the years through Sunday School, women’s Bible studies, the Social Team, and Quaboag Youth Ministry. All three of our kids came up through Quaboag Youth Ministry, and I loved volunteering while they were part of the group. When our youngest graduated, becoming a leader felt like a natural next step.
I love getting to truly know our students—not just celebrating the good moments with them, but walking beside them through the hard ones, praying for them, and being part of their everyday lives. Each one becomes an extension of our family.
I spent 21 years as a stay-at-home homeschooling mom, and these days our daughter lives next door while our two sons live in Colorado, so life still includes plenty of family time and lots of travel. I’m happiest outside, love experiencing new places, and am always up for learning or trying something new—whether that’s skydiving, rappelling, or rafting. I also love crafting of all kinds and challenging myself to learn new skills.
One verse I’ve returned to again and again is James 1:5: “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously…” It carried me through many years of homeschooling and still speaks to me as a Catalyst leader. I also believe deeply in making gratitude part of everyday life and the difference it can make in the way we see the world around us.

I’ve been part of Quaboag Church for about ten years and helping with Quaboag Youth Ministry for about nine—although it’s still hard to believe it’s really been that long! What I love most about Quaboag Youth Ministry is the kids. We have some truly amazing young people here at Quaboag, and I love getting to know them through all the different seasons of growing up—from the shy and unsure seventh graders just walking through the doors to the young adults we’ve watched grow up and begin chasing their dreams.
Outside of Quaboag Youth Ministry, Jim and I have two adult children and four grandchildren, and I’ve discovered that grandkids really are every bit as wonderful as everyone says! A day spent with them will always make me happy. I also love hearing people’s stories. My grandmother had a story for every occasion, and I think that may be where my love of stories—and of the people behind them—began.
I’m also a bit of a numbers geek who happens to love language too. Give me a good biography, Italian food, a long walk through the woods or along the beach, and an iced Americano with coconut milk, and I’m pretty content.

I’ve been part of Quaboag Church for about ten years and serving with Quaboag Youth Ministry for almost four. What I love most about Quaboag Youth Ministry is the relationships I get to build with our students and having the opportunity to share God’s Word with them.
Outside of Quaboag Youth Ministry, I work in the special education program at Tantasqua Regional High School and help coach the boys lacrosse team. My wife, Amanda, and I are expecting a little girl in January, and we have an English Cream Golden Retriever who will, of course, always be our first child. Sports have always been a big part of my life (especially lacrosse) and somehow, after playing throughout high school and college, I’ve never broken a bone.
When I’m not talking about or playing sports—and I do love some snowboarding—Disney is usually close behind. Unsurprisingly, Disney World is one of my favorite places, and that love carries over to the movies too, especially Cars. When I’m not doing something Disney- or sports-related, I’m usually pretty happy building LEGOs or grabbing a butter pecan iced coffee.
Music is another thing I really enjoy, and one of my favorite songs is In Christ Alone. I love its message that Jesus has overcome death, that He is our hope and salvation, and that nothing can separate us from Him.
